Japanese Media: Japan Stepped Up Development Of Drone Standards

Reference News Network which reported on April 1, Japanese media said that the Japanese government will promote the commercialization of drones.

     In the summer of 2018, drones will be allowed to carry goods in outlying islands and mountains. Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism will also discuss the permission of drone shipments in urban areas after 2020. In principle, Japan restricts drones from flying outside the line of sight of people, but companies have huge demand for drones in terms of cargo distribution, infrastructure management, and measurement. 

    At present, China and France are leading the development of drone standards, Japan and the United States are catching up.
